Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines how you can seek a refund or cancellation for services purchased through the RentEase platform. RentEase provides digital services related to rental property management, and refund eligibility varies by service type.
1. Online Rent Payments
- Successful payments:Rent payments made via UPI or card are transferred to the landlord's bank account. Once a payment is successfully processed and settled, refunds must be arranged directly between the landlord and tenant. RentEase does not hold rent funds and cannot reverse settled payments.
- Failed or duplicate payments: If a payment fails but the amount is debited from your account, the amount will be auto-refunded by the payment gateway (Cashfree) within 5–7 business days. If you notice a duplicate charge, please contact us within 7 days at hello@renteaseapp.com with the transaction reference number.
- Convenience fee: The platform fee (up to 1%) and payment gateway charges (up to 2.5%) charged as convenience fee are non-refundable once the payment is successfully processed.
2. Tenant Verification (KYT) — ₹100
- Before verification starts: If payment has been made but the verification process has not yet been initiated with Cashfree Identity, a full refund of ₹100 may be requested within 7 days of payment.
- After verification starts: Once the Aadhaar eKYC or PAN verification request has been submitted to Cashfree Identity, the fee is non-refundable regardless of the verification outcome (verified, failed, or incomplete), as the third-party verification cost has already been incurred.
3. Digital Rental Agreement — ₹1,000
- Draft stage: If payment has been made but the agreement is still in DRAFT status (neither party has signed), a full refund may be requested within 7 days of payment.
- Partially signed: If one party has already signed (OTP-verified), the agreement fee is non-refundable as the e-stamp and signing process has been initiated.
- Fully signed: Once both parties have signed and the signed PDF has been generated, the agreement fee is non-refundable.
4. Platform Access
RentEase's base platform (property management, tenant management, WhatsApp automation, offline rent tracking) is free forever. There are no subscription fees to cancel or refund for the free plan.
5. How to Request a Refund
- Email us at hello@renteaseapp.com with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include your registered phone number, transaction reference or order ID, service type (KYT / Agreement / Rent Payment), and reason for the refund.
- Refund requests must be raised within 7 days of the transaction.
- Our team will review and respond within 3 business days. Approved refunds will be processed within 7 business days to the original payment method.
6. Cancellation
- Account cancellation:You may delete your account at any time through the Platform settings. Account deletion is subject to the terms described in our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
- Service cancellation: Individual service transactions (KYT, agreements, rent payments) cannot be cancelled once processing has begun with third-party providers (Cashfree).
7. Disputes
For payment disputes or chargebacks, please contact us within 30 days of the transaction. We will work with Cashfree Payments to investigate and resolve the issue. All disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.
